Silverware again in Nottingham!
It was another successful day for Barnsley Table Tennis Club, as several of our juniors travelled to the Nottingham Junior and Cadet 2* Tournament. On the back of a great day at the South Yorkshire Schools event, players were keen to start where they left off on Thursday. Throughout the day, there were some closely fought matches in both halls, with Sebastian going unbeaten right up until his last match, where he faced Toby in the deciding match for the group winner. Following a four set showdown, Sebastian lost 3-1 and claimed a fantastic second place!
Troy previously came second in Nottingham and was determined to go one step further today and he did just that! Several 3-2 wins and matches filled with character resulted in Troy winning every match and claiming first place!
Other results from the day saw Connor beating Max from 2-0 down and William also beating Max 3-1. That been said, Max played some fantastic sets and pushed the top players right to the end. He played fantastic against Toby and almost took a set from the event winner! Lewis played in his first tournament today and it was a great learning experiences. Though he didn't take any wins from the day, he comes away with a lot of experience against top players and ready to put todays learning into training next week!
